The 7th plenary meeting of the KONFIDO project took place on May 21 & 22, in Paris. Partners from 7 EU countries got together to discuss the validation pilots for the KONFIDO system and the project's overall progress.
After the progress update by the project's coordinator, a series of presentations and discussions followed, concerning the KONFIDO integrated system and technology validation pilots. Emphasis was also put on raising awareness and on the exploitation roadmap as well as on the legal and ethical assessment on data privacy.
A joint KONFIDO - SHiELD meeting also took place, where partners from both progress had the opportunity to present each project's results and challenges on cybersecurity and privacy for eHealth and to discuss the collaboration plan on ethics.

Giovanni Mazzeo from CINI presented a paper entitled “Exploiting New CPU Extensions for Secure Exchange of eHealth Data at the EU Level” at 14th European Dependable Computing Conference (EDCC2018) that took place September 10 - 14, 2018 in Iasi, Romania.
The paper, that described the activities related to the security enhancement of OpenNCP with SGX, won the Best Distinguished Paper award.

Anastasia Theodouli (CERTH/ITI) presented a paper on the potential of Blockchain and Smart Contracts to facilitate healthcare data sharing and permission handling in the 17th IEEE International Conference on Trust, Security and Privacy in Computing and Communications that was held in New York, USA from July 31th - August 3rd, 2018.
